It's #FacultyFriday here at Rider CBA and we would like to recognize Dr. Drew Procaccino, a professor of Information Systems Essentials, Management Information Systems, Excel for Healthcare Management & Administration, and now Sport Analytics. Dr. Procaccino is a Rider alum for both his undergraduate BSBA in Decision Sciences and Computers and his MBA with a concentration in Information Technology. Like many of his students, Dr. Procaccino has a passion for sports and he uses that frequently in the classroom.
Sports Interest:
“My passion for what I teach stems from the analytics of sports, and that you can apply information systems into sports. It’s an engaging and fun way of applying your learning as opposed to the traditional applications. I am also on the Business of Sports committee and I help with course approval and shaping the major and minors for Sports Management.”
Passion for Teaching:
“I truly enjoy being engaged with students, especially in hands-on coursework. It is rewarding to see their improvements and progress. The variety of things that you get to do for teaching besides class time (such as, creating interactive coursework, meeting with students, and advising clubs) keeps things interesting.”
Research Focus:
“I have done a few talks and papers on Identity Theft. I tend to enjoy doing quantitative analysis and transferring it into graphics, and presenting numerical data. Most of the time I try to assist my colleagues in presenting their data during their research via charts, pivot tables, and traditional tables.”
