Today's "My Rider Story" is from Junior Chloe Shortino. She has fully taken advantage off all Rider's College of Business has to offer, and shows how easily you can benefit from it too!
Background Information:
“I am a Junior Accounting major with a concentration in Business Fraud and Forensics. My hometown is Hillsborough, NJ. I am involved in Delta Sigma Pi, Club Softball, Accounting Society, and Circle K International.”
Why did you pick Rider CBA over another business school?
“When I went to Accepted Students Day and learned about the Accounting Program, I was happy to hear that we are AACSB accredited (we are 1 of 2 NJ schools with this) and that almost 100% of seniors graduated with full time jobs. I also really liked all the professors I met and could see myself doing well at Rider.”
What made you stay at Rider after your Freshman year?
“I had a great first year at Rider. I made a lot of friends, and liked all my professors. I knew that there were going to be lots of great opportunities for me in the rest of my time at here. I'm also so comfortable at Rider and it really feels like my second home.”
What is your favorite thing about Rider?
“I had the amazing opportunity of studying abroad for a week in Ireland my freshman year. I wanted to go abroad, but didn't want to go for a whole semester so this program was perfect! It was even more amazing to go as a Freshman and make so many memories. It also allowed me to become closer with the professors, Dr. O'Reilly-Allen and Dr. Sprotzer who went on the trip.”
How has Rider CBA helped you professionally?
“I currently have a part-time internship at Ameriprise Financial. Rider has helped me prepare myself to get this internship through resume workshops, doing mock interviews, meeting with Lindsay Alvarado, and being a brother of Deltasig. Rider CBA has helped me to become the business professional that I am.”
