The Rider CBA senior spotlight of the week is Cole Nelson, a dual major in Global Supply Chain Management and Marketing. He is originally from Pennsylvania and now lives right outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. Coming to Rider, Cole was able to make a big impact for himself, but Rider's CBA program had the most impact on him throughout his four years. "Throughout all of the courses I became more responsible about doing my individual work as well as working with a team or group", Cole states.
This past summer, Cole had a internship in Las Vegas with MGM Resorts International in the Global Procurement department. He explains, "This was a great experience that gave me the confidence I needed to say to myself, 'I can actually do this when I graduate'". Cole has found his passion and is motivated to pursue a career similar to this internship.
Throughout his four years at Rider University, the biggest difference Cole has seen in himself is that, he feels more comfortable and confident when going into the workforce after graduation. "The courses and connections I had made really shaped me to feel this way", Cole clarifies. He also explains that with the resources Rider has offered such as, the career fairs and professional workshops like mock interviews and resume workshops, made the idea of graduating more satisfying to have the ability to know what to expect in the real world. "It would have been terrible if I didn’t have those opportunities to gain experience with my professional skills", Cole mentions. "This led me to be less stressed about school so I could enjoy everything else Rider University had to offer". Cole is grateful for Rider's CBA opportunities and will always refer to the program throughout his career.
