The College of Business Administration would like to recognize the senior spotlight of the week, Nadia Saez, from Somerville, NJ. Originally, Ms. Saez was an Education and Sociology double major with a minor in Special Education and Early Childhood Development, but during her sophomore year she realized that was not the best fit for her. So, she decided to try something new and switched to a double major in Marketing and Entrepreneurial Studies.

Still wanting to incorporate children into her future career, Ms. Saez joined Rider CBA's "Minding Our Business" program with Dr. Hernandez. "I got the best of both worlds when I was able to not only work with kids, but teach them what it is to be an entrepreneur", Ms. Saez explains. Dr. Hernandez who worked on this program for 20 years created these opportunities to develop business skills and gain valuable skills at Rider University. Ms. Saez is grateful for this experience while teaching urban youths that they can be entrepreneurs and how they can accomplish their goals.

Another Professor Ms. Saez is thankful for is, Professor Sumutka. She was able to take the Small Business Tax Planning course with him and she has never had such a tough professor before. However, she has never learned more from a class than his. She justifies, "He challenged me to learn and do assignments on topics I never thought I could do". Lastly her Entrepreneurial Studies advisor, Dr. Zane, has given her a great experience in the Rider CBA program. He was able to guide her for the past three years and keep her on track with her credits. "I have never had him as a professor, but I will be in the Spring 2018 and I am looking forward to learning all about New Venture Planning with him", Ms. Saez mentions.

Compared to her freshmen year, Ms. Saez now holds multiple responsibilities on campus. She holds two position in her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta, as the Social Media Director and Social Chair. She also holds a position in the Marketing Student Association as the Communications Executive on campus. Ms. Saez points out,"Each one of my positions are extremely involved and I am always busy working with each of them. In my freshmen year I did not hold positions in anything, nor was I involved in the amount of organizations as I am now."

Ms. Saez is happy that Rider's CBA made her time here enjoyable and easier by supplying her with a plenitude of resources to prepare her for graduation. "Whether it be holding Career Fairs, helping us prepare for interviews, helping us create and fix our resume through Handshake, or holding other networking events to meet and hear business professionals speak about themselves and their companies," Ms. Saez expresses. She also is determined to find an internship after college. With the resources and the great commitment of the CBA faculty, Ms. Saez is thankful to have the knowledge and confidence to pursue an internship in the future.
